dream of beats is a haphazard collection of incomplete demo material recorded between 1994-2000. Primarily of the Hip Hop genre, dream of beats presents a cross-section of songs that don’t fit the traditional radio-play format. My initial impulse to create music, like my visual artwork, was to address the lack that I perceived in commercial radio. Drawing inspiration from the Bomb Squad, the original Bomb Squad, The Ummah, the RZA, and any other top-notch producer that could be named, I set out to create sounds reflective of my personality and musical tastes – to mixed results.

Most, if not all, sounds were stitched together on a Fostex X-18 Multitracker, looped on a Gemini DS-824 or a Roland MS-1sampler, or sequenced on a Boss DR-5 drum machine. Once completed, tracks were digitized poorly from four-track cassette tapes, and presented here. With all inconsistent cuts and mixing done by yours truly.
